Fira de Barcelona's graphic trade show will be held from 4 to 7 May 2027
Joan Casas, Deputy General Manager of Fujifilm Spain, will chair Graphispag 2027
The Board of Directors of Fira de Barcelona has appointed Joan Casas i Sogas, Deputy General Manager of Fujifilm in Spain, as President of Graphispag, the International Exhibition of the Graphic Industry and Visual Communication. The event will hold its next edition from 4 to 7 May 2027, in conjunction with the packaging trade fair Hispack. Casas succeeds Xavier Armengou, who chaired the trade show in the 2019, 2022, and 2024 editions.
With an extensive career in the graphic industry, Joan Casas (Barcelona, 1964) has spent more than a decade at Fujifilm, a leading multinational in digital, offset, and packaging printing solutions. During this time, he has taken on responsibilities in management, marketing, communications, and business development. In his current role as Deputy General Manager in Spain, he has driven strategic projects focused on sustainability, digital transformation, and technological innovation in printing—key areas for the sector and central themes for Graphispag. In addition, Casas serves as President of AESI, the Spanish Association of Printing Suppliers, which is part of the Graphispack Association.
Prior to joining Fujifilm, Joan Casas held management positions at Access Ability SL, Vinzeo IT, Agfa Gevaert SA / Agfa Photo Spain SL, and in the publishing sector at Ediciones Deportivas Catalanas (Diario Sport), where he led the management, marketing, and general management areas. He holds a background in Business Management and Marketing, as well as a Master’s Degree in Commercial Management and specialized programs in management and leadership.
In his new role as President of the Organising Committee, Joan Casas will bring his experience and expertise to further strengthen Graphispag’s position as a benchmark platform for technology and innovation across sectors that apply printing in their production processes, and particularly for the graphic industry in the Iberian market.
Joan Casas explains: “In 2027, we want graphic technology to connect with industrial innovation. That’s why we are committed to a Graphispag that demonstrates how printing, substrates, coding, advanced finishing, and post-press processes can transform production workflows and deliver greater value to graphic services companies in areas such as commercial printing, large format, packaging and labels, and book production, as well as to many other sectors—such as textiles, advertising, retail, and interior decoration—that print or rely on printed products.”
Organised by Fira de Barcelona, Graphispag 2027 will share dates and venue with Hispack, the packaging, processing, and logistics trade fair. This will expand its reach and create significant synergies between the graphic and packaging industries.
Graphispag will be located in Hall 1 of the Gran Via venue, bringing together exhibiting companies showcasing materials, substrates, machinery, and printing technology, as well as finishing, binding, and transformation solutions. Its offering will target both graphic and visual communication service providers and industrial sectors seeking customised and sustainable printing solutions, with a special focus on packaging.
Hispack, meanwhile, will occupy Halls 2 and 3 for its 20th edition, presenting the most comprehensive view of packaging innovation across the entire value chain.
The joint staging of Graphispag and Hispack reinforces the historic link between the two shows, which were launched together in 1966 under the name Graphispack. After years of separate paths, they will reunite in 2027 to strengthen their role as a strategic event for market revitalisation. Exceptionally, and as a result of the pandemic, both events coincided in 2022—an edition that already generated significant synergies that organisers now aim to expand.
Under the leadership of Joan Casas, with the collaboration of the organising committee and the support of more than 60 associations and industry bodies, Graphispag 2027 is already working on designing an edition that meets the needs of companies and professionals in the graphic and visual communication sector in Spain.
